Beyond the Ballot

Voting is one way we make our voices heard, but our responsibility to one another doesn’t end when the polls close.

It continues in the communities we support, the conversations we’re willing to have, the people we stand beside, and the ways we choose to show up for one another.

If you’ve already voted, thank you for doing your part. If you haven’t, I hope you’ll make a plan to vote on Tuesday.

And whatever the results bring, I hope we continue to believe in our ability to create something better. Not through wishful thinking, but through the choices we make and the work we’re willing to do together.

There’s a lot happening in the world, and plenty we can’t predict. But I keep coming back to the things we can do: care for one another, stay engaged, and contribute something good wherever we can.

Our future is still ours to shape.

Make Your Voting Plan

“

Hope is not the belief that everything will turn out exactly as we wish. It’s the belief that a better future is still worth working toward.

Whatever this week brings, may we continue to care deeply, stay connected to one another, and find reasons to believe in what’s possible.

More Than Just a Doll

Black Barbie: A Documentary

Before there was a Black Barbie, there were Black women determined to make representation matter.

Black Barbie: A Documentary tells the story of the women at Mattel who helped bring the first Black Barbie to life in 1980, changing what generations of little girls could see and imagine for themselves.

It’s a fascinating look at the power of representation, the importance of having a seat at the table, and the Black women whose vision helped change an iconic brand.
