There is a lot happening in the world, and it is shifting how we think about where we go, how we show up, and what we need in this season.
You can feel it in conversations, in group chats, in the pauses people take before making plans.
There is a collective holding of breath.
People are taking a closer look at their choices. They are asking themselves what feels aligned, what feels urgent, and what can be held for later.
There is a deeper level of awareness in how we are living right now.
And of course…there’s the uncertainty.
Yet, if there is one thing many years on this earth teaches us, it is that tomorrow is not promised.
We often wait for the right moment to begin, for things to feel more certain and more complete.
Life rarely meet us in that way.
So the question becomes, how do you find your joy when life feels chaotic, and how do you stay connected to yourself when everything around you feels unsettled?

A few weeks I returned from a 2-week trip to Thailand, co-hosting a retreat with a dear friend for Black women 45+.
In the middle of everything happening in the world, 2 weeks after a war in the Middle East began, there was something deeply grounding about that experience.
I’ll tell you this…there is nothing more beautiful, more sweet, more soft than being in the company of Black women, in community, in sisterhood, in care.
The air just feels different when you're in the presence of women stepping fully into their next chapter.
And what stood out most was how free they were.
There was a clarity in how they moved and certainty in how they spoke about their lives.
They were not waiting for permission.
They were not postponing joy.
They were present with themselves in a way that felt grounded and steady.
That level of presence, confidence, and wisdom is shaped over time.
It is built through lived experience, through navigating different seasons, and through a deeper understanding of what truly matters.
With that comes the realization that the best part of life is how you choose to live it now.
That experience brought me back to something I have been thinking about, and it’s the idea of front loading your life by choosing to fill it with meaningful experiences, connection, and presence while you are living it.
Front loading your life is often framed through the lens of financial security, where the goal is to build early so you can enjoy later.
Recently, I have been thinking about what it looks like to front load your life with joy, and with moments that shape you while you are living them.
The first half of our lives, and the experiences we choose to have, inform everything that comes after.
They shape how we see the world, how we see ourselves, and what we believe is possible.
They create a depth that makes the next chapter of life feel richer and more expansive.
That is what I was reminded of in Thailand.
The disconnect healed my nervous system.
The Black woman joy and laughter grounded me.
The rest allowed my body to soften and fully exhale.
I didn’t need this moment later, I needed it now.
That’s what front loading your life looks like.
It is…
Choosing to be fully present in your life as it is evolving
Creating space for joy, beauty, and ease as part of your everyday experience
Prioritizing connection with yourself and with people who see and support you
Saying yes to experiences that expand your perspective and deepen your self trust
Allowing yourself to move through life with intention, even when things feel uncertain
Trusting that how you live now shapes the depth, richness, and alignment of what comes next
You can decide how you want to live at any moment and trust that the life you are building is shaped by the moments you choose to fully experience.
A life well lived is one you choose to be present for now. ✨💛
