Panamá is where my inner child first learned to experience peace and play. I revisited the country again this year and this feeling has staying power. I want to share this experience with you.

Before I became an over-credentialed career woman, I was first the elder daughter of Afro-Antillean immigrants. Most of my family still lives in Panamá and, every summer, my childhood was spent playing with cousins and neighborhood children. 

Panamá taught me that peace and play is not something you earn. It is the necessary pre-requisite to putting in the work for what comes next. I did not understand, until much later, that I had designed a life that required me to martyr myself in order to earn peace and play. By the time I realized it, I was already too exhausted to take any steps to shift my life. I had already sacrificed so much to have the credentials, the job, the relationship, the family, that it was easier to keep investing in the sacrifice, even if it wasn’t serving me any longer. 

The Sovereign Life retreat will make three requests of you: radical pause, radical presence, and radical possibility. While I am a licensed therapist in New York by training and the founder of Radical Possibility Mental Health Counseling, PLLC, I am curating this wellness experience with the lens of my wellness and life coaching expertise. Through powerful witnessing and personal work, this retreat will support you in designing a plan to move from self-abandonment to self-actualization–to a sovereign life.
