Message From The Host
Hello from across the pond!
My name is Ebere (pronounced ‘Eh-beh-reh’) and I’m a corporate consultant from London. I’m also a proud graduate of Retreat Like A Boss October ‘23, hosted by OMNoire CEO, so it feels like a full-circle moment to introduce you to my first retreat!
Growing up in England with Nigerian parents, I observed that Black women across the diaspora are socialized to prioritize others at the expense of our own well-being and self-care.
The energy we invest in others is rarely reciprocated, but there’s something about travel that allows us the freedom to recenter ourselves.
I have been traveling extensively since my first paycheck and I've become a real advocate for women of color finding themselves through travel.
My mom (or as I would say, my mum) is the woman I’m closest to, so naturally I urged her to travel too. At first she was reluctant but now she’s more of a jetsetter than I am!
I also saw how travel has brought us closer and I wanted my first retreat to help other women strengthen their relationships too.
So I originally designed this retreat for mothers and daughters, but then I realized the importance of inclusivity—why not invite siblings, aunts and nieces, or friends? We all deserve a safe space to bond and connect.
And why wouldn’t that safe space be sunny Portugal? I studied in Portugal for a short time so I’m excited to introduce retreat attendees to Portuguese hospitality!
My hope is that this retreat provides you with an opportunity to grow individually and forge strong bonds with your loved ones and other like-hearted women.
Getting Here
You will arrive at Madeira Airport International Cristiano Ronaldo (FNC), which for many will include a layover in Lisbon. Round trip airport transportation is provided regardless of what time you arrive and depart within the retreat dates.
Travel Restrictions
We strive to curate the safest experience for our attendees. Should the need arise to reschedule our retreat due to circumstances beyond our control, your payments will be applied to a future retreat.
